A message from the Football West CEO

Dear all

I thought I would share with you some of the photos taken last weekend at the Perth Glory Women’s match.

In front of a crowd of 1327 spectators, and playing in the special commemorative pink and purple shirt the team won 3-1 to go 3 points clear at the top of the table (12 points from a possible 15).

More than $3,500 was raised for the National Breast Cancer Foundation including $500 for each of the goals that were scored by PGW. To top all of that, it was recorded and broadcast later that same afternoon on the ABC. Special guest for the afternoon was Damien deBohun – FFA Head of the A-League/W-League and representatives of the Perth Glory. If that wasn’t enough, Perth Glory were kind enough to donate five pages within plus the cover of their match day program which was sold at both the men’s and women’s games on Saturday and Sunday.

Just when it couldn’t get better – Perth Glory bought all of the Pink and Purple shirts from our kit supplier Kelme (some 60-70 or so), included it in their range of merchandise that they sold from their vans, and they sold out – with spectators wearing them on Sunday at the men’s match. On Monday morning we were fielding questions from fans asking when are we getting more – fyi, there are more on order. The first of the attached photos shows all the PGW team gathered in a ‘team’ shot on the field with all the spectators who had purchased one of the tops.

All great exciting stuff and thanks to all for their wonderful support of the team. I know the girls really do appreciate it.
