Beckenham Angels Dynamic Duo

Beckenham Angels can boast one of the most experienced and progresive women’s coaching staff for 2011.

2011 Season – Coaching and Pre-Season Training

The Beckenham Angels is pleased to formally announce the appointment of WA soccer legend John O’Connell as its Director of Coaching for the 2011 season. He will be supported by the new Senior Coach, Jason Washington-King, to begin pre-season training on Tuesday, 1 February, at 6pm, on Redcliffe Park Reserve.

John is taking on responsibility for the development of all Angels’ players and coaches, from our Junior right through to our Premier squad. Apart from being a member of WA Soccer’s Hall of Fame, and a prolific goal scorer for his clubs and the State, he was for a decade the coaching director of the Perth Soccer Club.  John’s people and coaching skills were eminently demonstrated to our members when he assisted the Angels in the latter part of the 2010 season.

Jason is the former coach of the Mandurah City women’s Premier side and was a State League soccer player in the ACT while gaining his Degree in Sports Science from Canberra University.  His other credentials include being coach of the Australian women’s in-line hockey team, as well as being an accomplished ice hockey player himself.   Jason will work primarily with Premier Squads but will assist in the development of our other senior teams and their coaches.

To kick-start the season an information forum – with John and Jason –  to which all members and prospective players are invited will be held at 12 noon at the  Redcliffe Park Reserve , Sydenham St Belmont on Saturday, 22nd January 2011. To be followed by a BBQ and light refreshments.

The club takes the opportunity to wish all its members/players and supporters a Happy Christmas and, together, a Prosperous New Year, both on and off the field.
