At the Glory W League semifinal Sunday at NIB we will all celebrate just how successful our game is here in WA. Lets be clear about this. Its the women’s part that I am talking about.
1. Singa Cup girls won Gold in Singapore this year
2. Perth Strikers won Gold at the Pan Pacific Masters at the Gold Coast
3. Perth Glory make it to the finals for the first time in their history
From the young ones, open age and our senior players, we have created a successful pathway that Football Federation Australia’s Mike Cockerill may not yet be aware of (refer Western Australia’s Golden Generation article) but we can be very proud of. FIFA recognise it as the biggest part of the world games growth.
Refer the Football Federation Australia’s Stephanie Brantz article with that great pic of Lisa DeVanna. The look in the photo is priceless!
Which Perth Glory team are you supporting this weekend?
With some of the biggest crowds across the W League this season, its clear the FootballWest management group has got the dynamics spot on for not only the Glory team, but also by providing the right opportunities for that very large growing part of our game to EXCEL.
The local State League Night Series starts soon at Noranda Sport Complex and Coker Park. Our best players on show from Quinns to Bunbury.
The Singa Cup girls and the Masters squad will be presented to the crowd at half time in a wonderful Celebration of Womens Football. Matildas caps will be presented to Tracey Wheeler, Denise Lofthouse, Julie Clayton, Sharon Mateljan, Sandra Brentnall and more…. The new National Coach will be there, ABC will be there, will you be there?
Watch out World Masters in Italy 2013!
