FOOTBALL WEST NOTICE ABOUT WEARING JEWELLERY

NOTICE RE JEWELLERY FROM FOOTBALL WEST

Dear Club Secretaries,

Please see below reminders from the Football West Referee’s department:

Security:
Last weekend saw two games where money & a mobile phone were stolen from referees changing rooms during games.
If all clubs can please ensure you are providing a secure room for referees to leave their equipment, that would be great.

The wearing of jewellery:
Jewellery is not to be worn by players. It has been reported that players are deliberately flouting the LOTG by trying to conceal jewellery by putting tape on jewellery to disguise it.

Referees will be asked to enforce this compliance more vigorously in all games. The exception to this rule is the wearing of a Medical alert item which should be taped.

The wearing of glasses:
A reminder that glasses can be worn as long as they are safety glasses with no metal frames and they are securely attached to the head.

The use of normal every day spectacles is NOT allowed, this is a particular concern in junior fixtures.
