JOONDALUP CITY WOMEN TAKE OUT WA WOMENS SECOND DIVISION

Joondalup City have taken out Second Division Metro convincingly with 20 wins and 1 draw (despite any rounds remaining). Congratulations!

Joondalup did well in the cup until landing mid table First Division side Backpackers in the final. They took a hammering against the 2015 Cup winners who, incidentally, did the same to Beckenham last year (the year Backpackers won the Second Division).

Such a massive area for population growth north of the river. An enviable area to be in, compared with some of the gridlocked, overburdened, established club locations.

Next year will be an exciting transition for a lot of clubs. The playoffs are introduced and the mess that was the First Division Metro will no doubt be cleaned up. The number of teams that may be accepted into the state league will simply mean the first and second metro divisions will be restructured again.

And then there’s NPL looming…phew!
