Kerr’s Perth Glory Women teammate Caitlin Foord was also on target in the match, which was the Matildas last before heading to Canada on Saturday for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Katrina Gorry opened the scoring, Michelle Heyman scored a hat-trick and Alleway and van Egmond  also found the net in the rout.

The match was the Matildas second this week against Vietnam, who had put up more resistance in a 4-0 defeat at Valentine Park.

On that occasion, Steph Catley and Foord had found the net inside the opening half an hour before Kyah Simon, in her 50th international appearance, and Heyman struck within a minute of each other early in the second half.

Coach Alen Stajcic was pleased with how the squad was shaping up for the World Cup.

“The players have worked extremely hard up to this point and there is a real belief among the group that we can do well, so it would be great to see a big crowd for the farewell game,” he had said after the first match.

The Matildas face the United States, Sweden and Nigeria in the group stages of the World Cup, which kicks off next month.
