The quality of the individuals spread among the two teams is almost without par and spectators at Wollongong’s superb WIN Stadium, not to mention national TV viewers, are set for a treat.
It will also be a reunion of sorts as Caitlin Foord and Sam Kerr return to face their old team for the first time away from home since their off-season move. For Wollongong starlet Foord, the match also marks a rare opportunity to turn out in her hometown.
Following a shocking mid-season Sydney FC know they can lock up a semi-final berth with victory here, and they can also put one hand on a home semi-final. There is indeed much at stake for the Sky Blues.
Perth Glory head east on a massive high, and they proudly boast their maiden Westfield W-League silverware after nailing down top spot in the last round.
The challenge now for Jamie Harnwell’s free-scoring side is to maintain that momentum into the finals. And they could barely have wished for a tougher task than away to Sydney FC.
The ABC TV Sunday afternoon broadcast games are hosted by Stephanie Brantz, with former Westfield Matildas and W-League star Sarah Walsh joining Peter Wilkins in commentary.
Catch all the action Live nationally at 3.00pm Sunday on ABC TV, or catch up from Monday on ABC iView with a full replay each Tuesday at 3.30am.
