Rita, who is survived by her sons Paul and Douglas and daughter Tani, was 71.

Born in Scotland, Rita immersed herself in WA football on her arrival in 1981. She was secretary of Cockburn United before moving to the South West where she became president of Bunbury Tricolore.

She was also secretary/treasurer of the Bunbury and Districts Junior Association before moving to Sydney in 2002.

She became an administration manager with then National Soccer League club Marconi Stallions, an opportunity that came about partly due to her friendship with former Socceroos coach Rale Rasic.

Rita also worked for Football Federation Australia as International Transfer and Clearance Officer before returning to Perth.

Football West sends condolences to Rita’s family and friends.
